Shanghai insulated joint is a general designation of pipeline joint which has the sealing performance, strength performance and insulation performance required by electric corrosion protection. It includes assembly, insulating board, packing, sealing ring, short pipe, etc.

Shanghai insulated joint is an improved product according to the problems existing in the use of insulated flange. It is an essential pressure element in the steel pipeline protection system, and is widely used in the steel pipeline protection system.

The installation method of Shanghai insulated joint is different from that of rubber flexible joint. It is very important to install the insulated joint safely and effectively. After installation, it is necessary to ensure the safety and service life of the joint. Please pay attention to the following eight points during installation:

1. No dead joint to be welded is allowed within 50m of the installation site;

2. If there is a dead end within 200m of the installation site, the welding of the dead end should be carried out within the local daily average temperature (± 5 ℃);

It is not allowed to connect with the pipeline within 5m after lifting to avoid damage to the pipeline joint;

4. When it is installed in the gas medium pipeline, it shall not be installed in the low-lying place where the pipeline is buried;

5. The pressure rise and fall speed of insulated joint shall not be greater than 0.5MPa per minute;

When anticorrosion is carried out, it is not allowed to connect the joint with the pipeline at the temperature higher than 6 ℃ after anticorrosion;

7. Before installation, only insulation performance test shall be conducted (the resistance of 500V megger shall be greater than 2m Ω and not lower than the marked data, and it is not suitable to conduct hydraulic test again);

8. The insulation joint shall not be used as the compensation part of thermal stress deformation.
